Sandile Radebe is a passionate boy, although is an adult, he is young when it comes to art. I appreciate talent and always hungry for the growth of my talent. I’m always on the edge of expression, the need to speak out, like carpenter’s craft mine is lives in writing a story or a poetic verse.
I became a writer for Fundza Literacy Trust when I thought since I can’t achieve my dream to be a song writer and producer my talent is unknown to me or I’ll suffer from it when it eats me inside wishing to come out. I’m not after fame because God may not give me what I want knowing when he gave me I’ll quickly forget of him. As I said, the need to write and express myself kept eating me inside. An idea came to me wishing to create a comic novel. I sent this idea to Nalibali so that they can make of it a kids comic book. Then Nalibali responded to me on Facebook referring me to Fundza Literacy Trust. They gave me an opportunity to relive my dream but this time as a Poet.
How the journey of reading and writing for enjoyment shaped or contributed to my life by showing that whether I lost my job or made mistakes in not planning my life I have something to live for. After all I’ve been through studying Sound Engineering, again not stopping, I studied a short course in creative writing; all of this was not for nothing. It all prepared me for this now as I have found this writer’s platform.
The words of inspiration I live by is discipline, passion, love and people. With discipline you need to always keep writing because by doing that you are like an athlete who always train for him or her to with a medal. Passion is what hold your skill in place. In fact it’s your tool box your resource when you go to work as a writer. Love is your ticket to go onboard for every piece you want to write. Without it you’re vulnerable to the illusionism of writers block. People is those around you the ones you love, family, friends and parents. They teach you skills and values that you grow up and live by.
