It was in the morning when Nozile woke up and switch on the plug to make the water hot inside the pot. When the water was hot, Nozile washed her body and on her uniform. Nozile’s skirt was a bit longer than the kids at school. Some of the children at school make fun of her “You should stop wearing your Gogo’s skirt, Nozile” they would say. Nozile didn’t mind negative people because after all, she was an active and positive person.
Nozile’s performance in the class is good. She was number three in her class and that made her proud. Some of the learners were very jealous of her because Nozile get more marks than them. They start talking behind her back and spreading rumours around the school that are not true. Nozile’s heart was very broken, and sometimes they would make fun of Nozile’s situation at home…well Nozile wasn’t rich but her family could afford a little for her.
Samantha, one of the biggest bullies at school would make fun of her too. “You are so ugly Nozile, did you even look at yourself? I don’t want you near me!” Samantha would say. Nozile would start believing that she was ugly, she would skip going to church and bunk school sometimes. She started to have anxiety and depression and sometimes she would cry for no reason. Nozile’s cousin, Lerato, would remind her that her beauty is a gift from God and they love her the way she is.
No matter what your body, skin and beauty look like, you’re a gift from God and may nobody tell you that you’re ugly and do not mind them! STAY AWAY FROM NEGATIVE PEOPLE GUYS!
