With immediate effect after President Ramaphosa’s speech on Sunday evening, the 25th July 2021 South Africa has returned to Adjusted Alert Level 3 from Alert Level 4.
South Africa was on Alert Level 4 for 28 days while the third wave, driven by the very infectious Delta variant of coronavirus, was at its peak. It seems now to be largely over the peak, especially in Gauteng where it was at its worse. However, we still need to be very cautious as it is still not trending down in certain areas such as the Western Cape and KwaZulu Natal.
