With each stomp, the earth rumbled. The sound of the leaves rattle noised the moist air. The trunks of trees creaked with the beast’s heavy motion. The long barrel of his rifle was brought up as he came to a halt. His eyes shot to the cause of his racing heart.

One foot in front of the other, the beast drew near. If circumstances were different, its pace would be considered nonchalant. Its gruff breathing became clear to Sibas’ ears. From the east came a sound no different from the one approaching ahead, but its pace at a much-increased rate. Its stomps tons heavier. A deafening growl pierced the still night. With a blink of his eye, the monstrous beast, cloaked by a coat of black fur that glistened in the moons’ shine, stood in front of his glaring eyes.

From behind him, another one of the beasts joined. All alacrity streamed out of his system. Siba being a dullard breed let loose the grip on his rifle and clumsily reached for his camera. With no further thought, a flash escaped and captured the beasts in their home, the gloom of forests.

The action Siba decided to take imploded into a mass reaction. The beasts fell into a frantic frenzy. Their fingers rolled into fists and met the damp trunks of lifeless trees. Violent thumps met their furred chests. The beasts were wild, and as instinct set in, a small missile fired from the large gun Siba again carried. That worsened the situation but it did not stop him. One shot. Then another fired. He aimed at anything and everything.

The moons’ shine shone on a crimson liquid as it oozed from the beast’s side. He succeeded in wounding it, but the aim was to kill it. Siba fired on. The beast he had hurt disappeared into the thicket. He turned, rifle aimed at the second. The creature was immune to the fast travelling missiles, so instead, it charged at him.

Fists’ against the earth. Legs slightly bent. The beast galloped towards him. Again, acting on instinct, he charges to the woods. The parts of trees growing out of their trunks, slapped against his face. A minute of mileage passed when the monstrosity reached him. It cupped him under its arm and ascended the mountains’ hill. His screams were loud above the sound of branches break but began to muffle with the aloofness. Then the forest at its normality reverted to accustomed calmness.
