We all need freedom,
Death is a mortal friend
but I’m not afraid.
I await that day
when my life He’ll gladly take.
O death, You I await!
I am patient
and will be until you I shall meet
when I’ll be free.
This earth seems so vain,
There’s nothing that we can gain
but in death, we’ll be free.
When all our struggles
will be rewarded with peace
then freedom will reign.
Can’t we see,
that this life is but a shame
which cannot be tamed?
I know that you think
I’m a slave and that you are king,
but you’re mistaken.
You are just a path,
I will use you to be free.
So, I’m not afraid.
