As I sprint
Running away from my own shadow
Rushing from all types of beings, from getting close enough to see ME
but my wrinkled, black and blue scars have no shame in sharing my story.

Giving this stranger a road trip to my love and loss
Giving this stranger a tale of my pain and misery
Their eyes looking past me through to my forbidden chambers
Waiting for me to utter even a whisper of breath

I can’t, I’m afraid of the agony cry creeping to escape from my lips.
You’re here and I want you to stay but also leave me at once like they all do
As the voices in my chambers constantly say..
I look at you and I wish mercy on you
That you never know how it feels like to cave in your own body and voice.
