Mother’s love: (before she was born)

I dreamed of you before you were born
I wondered what you’d look like

I loved you even before you were born
I felt your kicks and turns in my womb

I cried your tears before you were born
I bought most of the things you made me crave

I sang and talked a lot before you were born
I loved when you listened

I had long naps and short days
before you were born, all I did was eat

There’s more to tell now that you are born:

I’m happy to meet you
I’ve felt more unconditional love and still do
Your skin,
your cute black eyes, your small hands and feet,
your touch and embrace,
when you lay your head on mama’s breast,
I’m in a place I’d rather be with only you, my baby.
