Adapted from story by Lelethu Lamani

My mother is a business woman and sells alcohol from home. When she is out I have to stay home and sell. I don’t like that because I have to push people to pay when they don’t want to. Once this man came to the house and asked for a beer. I took it out of the fridge and asked for money. He didn’t want to pay for it so I refused to give it to him. Then he hit me across the face. I didn’t know what to do or say. I was so angry my body was shaking like a jelly.
