I watched videos whereby whites were mistreating blacks. And to be honest, I didn’t like what I saw.

I cried after reading some heart-breaking news in the newspaper.

It dawned on me that the world is still trapped in the dungeon of racial discrimination. Even in the 21st century, human beings are programmed to reject black excellence. That’s why, for example, we think that Bill Gates is a hard worker while Jay Z is Illuminati.

That’s why I like Martin Luther King Junior’s famous 17 minute 1963 speech: “I have a dream”.

“I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with words of “interposition” and “nullification”; one day right there in Alabama little black boys and girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and girls as sisters and brothers.”

This part is my favourite part of his famous speech. But I think Martin Luther’s words were taken for granted, hence he was assassinated.

I read on the internet about a certain man who was put in a chokehold by police officers. The guy who goes by the name of George Floyd, an African American, was apprehended by the police because of an alleged forged $20 note.

I watched the video whereby he was reported to have said the phrase “I can’t breathe” repeatedly. But the police didn’t let go of him and he sadly died.

The video made me cry for our country, our black nation. The same people we worship each day turning against us? This is injustice! Where are we heading to? I ask myself this question daily.

There was another case about another victim, Ahaud Arbery, who was jogging and minding his own business when he was shot. Ahaud was unarmed. The two white men who killed Ahmaud were identified as Gregory and Travis McMichael.

There was a man named William “Roddie” Bryan, he was the neighbour of the McMichaels. He was the one recording the video.

The trio were arrested two months later, after the video went viral.

I thought that only whites mistreated blacks, but believe it or not, even blacks mistreat their own fellow blacks. Yes. It is true. Facts prove that racial discrimination cases are much higher in the United States than in the United Kingdom.

There was also another story I read about another young victim. An African American fourteen-year-old boy, who goes by the name of George Stinney Jr, who was executed in 1944 by an all-white jury for the “murder of two white girls”.

He was never given a fair trial; not anything. The boy was killed on an electric chair in the most inhumane way you could think of.

Years later, about six decades later, the case was reopened in 2004 and George was found not guilty of the crimes he was accused of. But it was too late, the damage had already been done.

This is my message: stop discriminating blacks because they are just like you and me with red blood flowing through our veins. Before God we are all equal.

Same goes to a traffic jam, there are many types of cars, ranging from a limousine to vitz on the same road. But before the traffic lights they all equally abide by the same rules.

Say no to racial discrimination! Being black is not a crime!

The world we are living in is slowly coming to an end. But I pray for global peace, I pray for the day when Martin Luther King Jr’s speech will completely change the world and racism will be a thing of the past. A world where peace and tranquillity will conquer and reign forever in our hearts.
Amen.
