Simnikiwe Maciciyela is a young fiction writer and a performing poet.He was born in Kwadabeka, Durban(8 July 2002) and He started writing at the age of 13 years. His first story was in isiXhosa, titled “Umona” but he failed to have it published. Again at the age of 15 years he wrote his second story titled “Pain of Living a lie”,this story is based on his best friend life. Simnikiwe is now a Fanz Writer.

Simnikiwe Maciciyela is known by his stage name Em-Son which comes from his surname Maciciyela. He is inspired by a 21 year old rapper, A-Reece he calls him self young Reece.
