Sindie
I sit right up on the hospital bed and reach out to my daughter and tap her little nose. It’s as if everything is complete whenever she’s in my arms.
“Ms. Nkosi.” The nurse calls out as she walks near my bed. “Are you ready to name your chubby little girl.”

I nod, I have the perfect name for her. “Naledi, her name is Naledi. My Naledi.”

“That’s a beautiful name.” She says as she  plays a little with Naledi before walking away.

“That’s right,” I say in a baby voice “You are my star.” For the first time I felt whole, yet worried and questioning myself on how was I supposed to support a baby when I could barely support myself but there was one thing I knew, I will be a better mother to my child a mother that will love and sacrifice for her own child.

“I promise you, I will do better for you.”
