a fading memory once guiding light

my dad,a presence that shone so bright

i’d wake up to his smile, his loving gaze

now his memory fades, like autumn’s haze

he called me his little princess

a treasure so rare but now I’m just a nuisance

a burden to share,the truth,a choice I made

a path that I’ve chosen leads me to tears

and a heart that’s sad,I reach out to him

with a cry and a plea hoping he’ll hear me

and understand me but silence greets me,

a hollow, empty space leave me longing,

with a heart that aches,I need him now

more than ever before but like sand he slips

away and I’m left with more questions, tears

and a heart that’s sore yearning for the dad

i had ,the love we had before
