Help

I suffered in silence , ashamed to utter a word

As a victim of touch, that was left without a voice

     Society’s expectations silenced my cry

“A man is not supposed to be hurt, or weak”

The weight of masculinity, crushed my voice

A burden to bear, without a choice

I was taken advantage of, without a fight

And left to face the darkness, of that endless night

     Without consolidation nor refuge

But now I stand, and speak my truth

Despite the hate and shame that will follow

As survivor of oppression, breaking through the. youth

I will not be silenced, I will not be tamed

My story will be heard, my voice will be reclaimed

Sexual oppression, knows no gender bounds

Victims come in all shapes, and all sounds

Let’s break the chains, of societal norms

And create a world, where all can be reborn

     Free to cry “help”
