Boitshepegi, a bright-eyed and ambitious 19-year-old, had just embarked on an exciting new chapter of her life. She had enrolled in university, eager to pursue her dreams and make a name for herself. The thrill of independence and freedom was intoxicating, and Boitshepegi felt like she was on top of the world. No more asking for permission from her strict mom and no more getting reprimanded for being herself.

As she settled into her cozy residence room, Boitshepegi couldn’t wait to explore the vibrant city surrounding her campus. She had heard stories about the local hotspots, from trendy cafes to lively music venues, celebrities coming there every weekend and she was determined to experience it all.

One sunny Sunday afternoon, Boitshepegi decided to take a break from studying and venture into the city. She slipped on her favorite pair of sneakers, grabbed her phone, and set off with a spring in her step. The warm breeze carried the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and Boitshepegi felt carefree and alive.

As she wandered through the bustling streets, Boitshepegi stumbled upon a quaint little café that caught her eye. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted out, enticing her to come inside. She pushed open the door and was immediately charmed by the cozy atmosphere. The friendly girl with a bright smile, greeted her warmly and recommended the café’s signature drink.

Boitshepegi sipped her coffee, savoring the rich flavors and watching the world go by through the large windows. She felt like a true city girl, independent and self-assured. But as the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the streets, Boitshepegi realized she was lost. She got carried away and forgot which street she took to get where she was.

Panic started to creep in as she frantically searched for a familiar landmark or a recognizable face. But everything seemed foreign, and she felt scared and alone. Her phone battery was dying, and she had no idea how to get back to campus. She had no data to use gps and to request for a ride.

As Boitshepegi was looking for her way, she noticed young people like her walking in groups to a small church nearby. She tagged along and went to the church. On a whim, Boitshepegi decided to step inside.

The church was quiet and peaceful, a serene oasis in the midst of the bustling city. Boitshepegi slipped into feeling a sense of calm wash over her. The people were welcoming and very friendly. The pastor’s message that day was about trusting in God’s guidance. Boitshepegi felt a pang of conviction, realizing that she had been ignoring God’s voice for far too long.

As she listened to the pastor’s words, Boitshepegi felt a sense of peace settle deep within her. She realized that she didn’t have to navigate life’s challenges on her own; she could trust in God’s sovereignty and guidance. She gave her life to Christ and became born again.

After the service, Boitshepegi felt rejuvenated and refreshed. She thanked the pastor and stepped out into the cool evening air, feeling a sense of wonder and awe. She forgot her situation of being lost and at some point, it hit back. A young lady asked her where she stayed and Boitshepegi told her. It was a coincidence they stayed t the same residence.

As they walked back to campus, Boitshepegi stumbled upon a small inscription on a nearby billboard written: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5), She smiled, feeling grateful for the unexpected detour.

Getting lost had turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Boitshepegi realized that sometimes, it takes getting lost to find what we’re truly looking for. And as she drifted off to sleep that night, she knew that she would never forget this journey of self-discovery and faith.

As Romans 10:10 says, “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Boitshepegi felt a sense of comfort, knowing that she could always turn to God, no matter where life took her. And as she embarked on this new chapter of her life, she knew that she would face every challenge with courage, faith, and a heart full of joy.
