Descriptive adjectives describe nouns or pronouns, and are the adjectives we use most often. They make our writing more colourful and interesting, for example, “The young man will achieve excellent results” is more interesting than “The man will achieve results.”

You can have more than one descriptive adjective describing a noun or pronoun, for example, “He is energetic, enthusiastic and young.”

Descriptive adjectives often describe how something looks, feels, tastes, smells or sounds. That is because we use our five senses in everything we do.
