Kate parks her white Tiguan in front of the restaurant’s window. She opens the door and her black stiletto kisses the floor. She gets out of the car and walk into the restaurant majestically, like a bride walking down the aisle in her white off-shoulder dress that hugs her body down to her knees.

“Good day, ma’am,” the waitress greets her.

“Hi, table for two please, reserved under Mr Peter Anderson.”

“OK, it is there near the window, let me accompany you.”

Kate follows the waitress to their reserved table.

“Thank you.” Kate puts her black handbag on top of the glass table and takes a seat on the red leather couch. She looks at the restaurant’s entrance and sees her man walk in. He’s tall and has a clean haircut, his white Nike T-shirt matches his complexion, and he’s in black jeans that match his Nike Air Force sneakers. He’s talking to the waitress that welcomed Kate, and she points to where Kate is and he walks straight to her.

“Hello beautiful,” he kisses her on the cheek.

“Hi,” Kate blushes.

“You look so stunning.” Peter takes his seat.

“Thanks, you don’t look too bad yourself.” She flashes him a smile.

“What would you like to eat?” asks the waitress.

“I would like to have rice with Greek salad and steak with an orange juice, please,” Kate replies, looking at the menu.

“I will have the same except for the orange juice, I would like a glass of red wine.” Peter places the menu on the table.

“So, you really like wine, huh?” Kate asks, staring Peter in the eyes.

“Yep, when I’m out I like to drink wine, especially when I’m not with the kids.”

“You have kids?” Kate asks, eyebrows raised.

“Yes, three of them, two girls and one boy. Why do you look so surprised?”

“Because you didn’t tell me you have children.” Kate looks down.

“Well, you didn’t ask, plus, a man of my age cannot be without kids!” he frowns. “Or what, you don’t have children?”

“No, I don’t have them.”

“Why not, are you infertile?” he looks her in the eyes.

“What! How can you say something like that?” she raises her voice.

“Please, calm down, I was just asking.”

“No, I’m not infertile, I’m just waiting for the right partner to start a family with.”

The waitress brings their food, puts it on the table, and walks away.

“So, do you live with them or do they stay with their mom?” Kate cuts a piece of the steak and puts it in her mouth.

“I stay with them.” He takes a sip of his red wine.

“And their mom?” She lifts up the orange-juice glass to drink.

“She lives with us,” he replies, with food in his mouth.

“What!” Kate chokes on the juice.

“Yes, apparently she is my wife we are married.”

“Unbelievable!” She puts her hands on her head. “You are a married man?”

“Yes, do you have a problem with that?” He continues eating his food.

“Wow! You have guts, do you think I’m a home wrecker?” She stands up, spitting fire. “I feel sorry for your wife!” She takes her handbag and points at Peter. “From today, I don’t know you, so stay away from me!” Kate rushes out of the restaurant with tears blurring her vision.

“Leave, you will stay lonely and miserable like that, it is your loss anyway, I was going to treat you like a queen!” Peter shouts after she has left. People at the restaurant stare at him but he doesn’t mind them. He continues to enjoy his meal and wine.
