Nina rushes into The Eat restaurant and walks straight to the table where her two best friends are seated.

“I’m so sorry for being late,” says, she pulling up a wooden chair and sitting down, “it was hectic at work.”

“It’s OK, we get it, doctor’s orders — remember, you took an oath to save lives,” Lisa teases her.

“Haha! Very funny. What are we eating? I’m famished!” She looks down at the menu on the glass table.

“I don’t know, let’s ask our chef friend here.” Lisa stares at Kate who is glued to her Hauwei P30. “Kate!”

“Mmmmh,” Kate answers, staring at her phone with a big smile plastered on her face.

Lisa grabs the phone from her, curious to see what’s making her friend smile this much and pay no attention to what she is saying.

“I can’t wait to see you tomorrow, sweetheart,” she reads out the text message that Kate has received from a guy on Facebook.

“Wow, friend!” She puts the phone on the table and stares at her friend in disbelief.

Nina also stares at Kate with her mouth wide open.

“It seems like the food is taking long,” Kate stands up, trying to avoid them, “let me go check if it’s not ready yet.”

“Nope! Sit down.” Nina stands up and makes Kate sit down. “The food will come when it’s ready.”

“I heard you say that you were famished, let me go see what is happening in the kitchen.” Kate tries to get up again but her friends hold her down.

“Friend, please relax and sit down, we want to know what’s going on here.” Lisa looks Kate in the eye while Nina is nodding.

“Fine! I’ll tell you everything.” She looks at them and sighs. “I’ve met a guy on Facebook and we are going on a date tomorrow.”

“What!” Nina and Lisa say in unison, shocked.

“When was that and how long have you known this guy?” Nina asks, recovering from the shock.

“It’s been two months.” Kate looks down, feeling guilty for keeping this from her friends for all this time.

“Wow, friend, such secrecy!” Lisa claps once in astonishment.

“Please forgive me, ladies, it wasn’t my intention to keep this from you, I was waiting for the right time to tell you.”

“Well, because we love you, we forgive you.”

Nina holds one of Kate’s hands and Lisa holds the other and they all smile.

“Thanks, I’m so lucky to have you guys as my friends.” Kate speaks with teary eyes.

“So, what are you going to wear tomorrow? You have to look stunning so that this guy won’t be able to take his eyes off you.” Lisa gives Kate a smirk.

“I don’t know, I’ll see when I get home,” Kate replies, with a shrug.

“No way! This is not a joke.” Lisa gets up and pulls Kate off the wooden chair.

She looks at Nina. “Get up, we are going to the mall.”

“What are we going to the mall for?”

“We’re taking our friend shopping to prepare for tomorrow.”

“What about the food, Nina is hungry?” Kate protests.

“Don’t worry, I will eat at the mall.”

The three best friends leave the restaurant chit-chatting and laughing, heading to the mall.
