I’m sure you’ve heard or even read in the comment section on social media when girls or women praise each other by saying, “Slay, queen!”

According to Dictionary.com slay, in this particular context, means, “to do something spectacularly well,” especially when it comes to fashion, artistic performance, or self-confidence.”

Example scenarios:

When your bestie posts a new picture on Instagram and you hurriedly leave a comment, “You are slaying! Love this. (fire emoji)”

Or when you just got your makeup done and your friend says, “Slay, queen. You look stunning.”

“You would look amazing in red. You would definitely slay it,” a friend might say to you.

Christmas is fast approaching and I’m sure all the girls are getting ready to slay, wink wink.
