I am a fan of polka dots, stripes and floral prints. But I hardly ever combine them together. So I thought hey, maybe I should check it out, challenge myself, be brave and play with these prints.

And the results – out of this world!

The proof is in the pictures, right? Well I must apologise that I cannot provide you with illustrations at the moment. But for the time being, try and imagine what I’m talking about. Get your clothes and try combine and see if works for you. I will try my best and provide you with pictures next year.

Stripes on polka dots

I love skirts so dearly, they make me feel like a woman; beautiful and sexy. So what I did was combine stripes and polka dots. There are different ways in which you can combine these prints. My favourite style is a bit formal, when you add that classy touch to your outfit. What I like about it is that it’s classy yet playful.

So my advice would be that you wear a polka dot flared skirt (flowy and wide downward, similar to an A-line skirt), or a straight skirt – fitted on the waist and hips but straight downward, or a pleated skirt or even a pencil skirt. Any skirt of your choice – combined with striped tops. It can be a black and white polka dot, yellow and white, navy and white, whatever colour you are comfortable with.

Now the trick is combining the polka dots with stripes.

For example you can combine any white skirt of your choice (from the ones I mention above, with black polka dots) with a yellow/pink/red top, with white horizontal stripes. Any of these colours will give the look a fun and funky feel.

Put on a waist belt to separate the prints. And remember – it’s a white skirt with black polka dots combined with a horizontally striped top.

Or switch and wear a flared striped skirt with a polka dot top – a crop top or a tank top or a basic t-shirt. If you go for a pencil or pleated skirt, it’s better if it’s polka dot.

Pleated skirts look way better when they’re worn with a blouse or shirts ergo. Wear the pleated polka dot skirt with a vertically striped shirt or blouse – short or long sleeves, it doesn’t really matter.

If you feel that this is too much then I’ll make it simple for you; just wear your jeggings (solid colour) with a polka dot top and a horizontally striped jacket. Make the outfit fun by wearing it with wedges. You can accessorise with a clutch bag, to finish off the classy look of the outfit.

Florals and Polka dots

When it comes to combining floral and polka dot prints, it is ideal to combine floral pants with polka dotted tops or rather style polka dot skirts with floral printed tops.

Starting with floral print pants, I would go for floral joggers and wear a polka dot tank top. To give it a nice comfortable casual look, wear sandals.

Or you can wear your floral jogger pants with a solid white colour tank top and a polka dot jacket. I like this look because it’s fresh, and has total swag written all over it. So if you don’t feel like wearing sandals, wedges or platforms will look spectacular with the outfit.

Accesorise the outfit with a solid colour clutch bag or sling bag and wear a gold or black statement chain. If you don’t have, feel free to use any neck piece. It can be a pendant or any chain that sits closer to the neck.
