People would listen to the twelve disciples and they would talk to Jesus who would plead to God. Jesus told the disciples that he was the bread of life. When people hear it, they think it means “real bread” but its spiritual bread. John 6 verse 35.

He notified to them that God did not give bread from heaven, in times of Moses. But God sent it to his people, the Israelites. He also said the bread is from God, and not earthly bread.

He said he was the water of life, as the scriptures say, “Streams of life – giving water will pour out from his side.”

He went on to say that he was the way, the truth and the life. Believing in the truth would set each one of those believing free. He is love. He showed his love upon those who hated him and those who accepted him. Jesus is the light of the world. Without Jesus we would be in darkness. And what we must do now is to flow with him and obey the teachings of the word of God.

Be like Jesus who knew his mission on earth and followed God’s instructions to make the scriptures come true. Be like Jesus; free yourself from sin. Be with him, so that God can direct our lives and show you the path that we should walk on. Everyone has a mission, we need to know why we are here and which way to follow. That is what God has set for our lives.

Jesus knew his mission on earth, when he finished, he was taken to heaven. That is what we are supposed to do, knowing our goal, our destiny and mission. When we accomplish what we came here to do, we will be taken up to heaven. The same God, the same Father and the same LORD who was with Jesus is calling us. Don’t be stubborn, listen up and act as you are told. Jesus is the good Shepherd and he told the disciples that he was the gate for the sheep. John 10 verse 11.

Jesus is the only one good shepherd who cares and loves us. When we are lost, he seeks us. When he finds us wounded, he tends to our wounds and rejoices over one sheep that he finds.

He warned the people that there are goats and sheep. Because they are sinners and are children of God, the sheep will be selected by God and put on the right side of God.

The disciples were being taught that God wants them to tend to the sheep. The disciples were to become shepherds and tend to the sheep by looking after them and feeding them. That means that they had to lay hands on the sick, preach the word of God and teach the laws of God. Many leaders are lost, instead of tending to the sheep they are filled with greed, lust and treat the sheep very badly.

Be like Jesus who did not care about the rewards that were waiting for him but he was an obedient Son. In our times, only a few will listen to what God says to us. Don’t be stubborn.

Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Even when Lazarus died, he made him alive and well. John 11 verse 25-26.

Jesus did not want his disciples to fear death but believe there is eternal life. He also wanted to show the power of his father that not even death is too hard for God. Jesus told the disciples that he was going away to prepare a place for them in heaven. He is the way that leads to heaven. John 14 verse1-4. He is the way, the truth and the life, no-one can go to the Father except through him.

He warned the disciples that they must bear fruits or else if they are evil fruits they will be cut down and thrown in the fire. He mentioned that God was the gardener and he was the vine. It means that we have to be united with him: the vine, so that we can bear good fruits or else you will be thrown in the fire. John 15 verse 1-4.

Jesus instructed how his disciples must live so that God can be pleased with them. Be like Jesus who speaks the truth that leads to life. Everyone has a destiny to fulfil but we must know which path to walk on so that we can reach our destination. Jesus had the power on earth to heal the sick, he had the power to open the eyes of the blind, the lame, the paralysed he made to walk and he made the dead alive. No sin was found in him that’s why he exceeded a lot of power from God.

Jesus is the first born Son of God who agreed to obey God even when he had to die. He knew he would live again. He gave his disciple’s teachings they must follow and all that they must do in order to live a holy life. Before he left earth, he instructed his disciples to preach the

Gospel, to make more disciples and baptising with the Holy Spirit. He made them secure by telling them that he will be always be with them in Spirit. He wanted them to be strong and to feel safe. It was for this that God called you, for Christ himself suffered for you and left you an example. So that you would follow in his footsteps. He committed no sin, and no one ever heard a lie come out from his lips.

When he was insulted, he did not answer back with an insult, when he suffered, he did not make threats but he placed his hope in God, the righteous Judge. Christ himself carried our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might not die to sin, but live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed. You were like a sheep that had lost its way, but now you have been brought to follow the Shepherd and the Keeper of your Souls. 1 Peter 2 verse 21-25.

We despised him and rejected him, he endured so much suffering and pain. No one would even look at him – we ignored him as if he were nothing. But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that should have been ours. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God, but because of our sins he was wounded, beaten and killed because of the evil we did. We are healed by the blood of Jesus and his suffering. We are made whole by the blows he received.

All of us were like sheep that were lost, each of us going his/her own way. But the Lord made the punishment fall on him because he loves us, the punishment all of us deserved. He was treated harshly, but endured it humbly, he never said a word, like a lamb to be slaughtered, like a sheep about to be sheared, he never said a word. Isaiah 53 verse 3-8 He had to be placed in a grave with the wicked and buried with the rich even though he had no crimes he committed.

BE LIKE JESUS!
