“We have to expose them Sophia!” Shouted Annelie in frustration.

“Expose them… how?” Sophia wasn’t sure what her friend meant. Whenever Nelie was angry, she rambled lately. And you couldn’t get a word in.

“I’m sure you’ve noticed how different Lindsay is now. Ever since that Katie girl came into the scene,” she spat out Katie’s name as if it had a bitter taste in her mouth. “Things have been different!” said the angry Annie.

Sophia was nodding in pretence agreement, unsure of what to say exactly. Annelie was so angry and screaming, that they didn’t hear the sound of an engine dying outside, the door being closed. They didn’t even notice that they had a visitor.

The girls hadn’t realised that Brian had been in the yard for most of the conversation. He was crouched outside the door, eavesdropping.

“I have to do something, Sophia,” said Annelie pacing. “I don’t know what yet, but I have to get those girls to pay,”

Brain had heard enough. She’s such a hypocrite, he thought as he stood up to knock.

“Uh… come in,” shouted Annelie.

“Hi ladies,” Brian greeted as he came in.

“Hi Brian,” smiled Annelie, almost dragging his name in her mouth. “What you by?” she was genuinely excited to get a visit from Brian. He also has a hard target since Lindsay had arrived. He spent all his time with her and that, Annelie hated the most. She moved to him and put her arms around his neck, giving him a hug. She hung on a bit too tight and a bit too long that Brian was feeling uncomfortable.

“I came to see if you guys wanted a lift to the park,” he said, trying to escape the viper hold Annelie had on him. “Since I’m going to fetch Lindsay and Katie and take them to the park, so we can have some outdoors fun,” he winked, not wanting to give away that he wasn’t in the mood.

“Uhm… No… it’s alright. Amanda will take us there. We’ll get you there,” said Annie, a little irritated at the mention of the girls’ names. Brian said okay and left.

“You need to chill Annie. We don’t want Brian to pick up on the tension you have okay!? I’ll go with them,” hissed Sophia as she got up to leave.

“Oh OK fine! You’re not much help though. Just go!” snapped Annie.

Sophia was worried as she left. She thought Annie’s jealousy was consuming her – she was becoming an ultimate enemy to herself. It wasn’t good at all. Sophia got into Brian’s car and left for the park.

The group had so much fun at the park but they noticed that Annie was different. Something was wrong with her. They asked Sophia if she knew what was going on. She couldn’t tell them what the problem was – it was going to tear the group apart.

Sophia also noticed that Lindsay was the centre of attention, together with Katie. They boys simply adored them. But she wasn’t going to let jealousy consume her like it was consuming Annie. She was going to sit down with Lindsay and Katie and talk to them. She was going to stop all this rubbish that was going on.
