“Oh God, he sent a message,” she whispered to herself. She read the message over and over again.

It had been a tiresome day for her. Amanda had been running up and down, there were too many orders. She ran a kitchen and catered for a small group of people. They always hired her for lunch and dinner, sometimes breakfast too. She started the business from scratch after Brenda, her previous boss, went bankrupt. All she wanted was to earn a living. She had no qualification but later studied for a diploma in food and nutrition.

Amanda had eaten a chicken casserole and rice that was leftover from work. She was very tired and all she wanted was to sleep. She decided to open her Facebook account while lying in bed. She saw 10 messages but one caught her attention: Trey Gimm. Her eyes flashed as she looked at his picture once more. He was muscular and dressed smartly. He wore jeans and a shirt tucked in, with a blue blazer, looking very classic. His smile showed off his dimples.

The message read Hie, but it was already going crazy in her mind. It was like he was there, close to her. She wondered what Hie from his lips would sound like. The feeling gave her goosebumps, she felt like something was flowing in her veins, the feeling of love. Her fingers were shaking and her nerves wanted to blast with joy.

“What should I reply? Oh God!” She breathed in deeply.

She typed, How are you?

He was online. She saw the typing sign and she blushed. I can’t wait, she thought.

My god I like you, I’m sorry if I offended you but I can’t hide it. Are u single?

What a gentleman! she thought and giggled. The heart emoji he put after his name made her adrenaline rush, she couldn’t control it. She waved her hand across her face to get some air, she was struggling to breathe from all the excitement.

Yes I’m single. Amanda responded.

Amanda was flattered. She imagined him speaking to her face-to-face, her watching his sexy cat eyes. She wondered what he looked like when he poured out his heart to her. Her eyes widened when she saw him typing. She was going to say yes but it was making her stomach turn with butterflies.

“Oh God, help me, I am dying here. Is this real?” she screamed and went to drink water.

She came back in a rush, she couldn’t wait any longer. She paused for a moment. What will I say? She thought hard. Her mind was racing in circles and confusing her. Her phone rang. Charlotte was calling. Amanda answered quickly.

“Gal, he texted!” she screamed.

“Amanda, please stop yelling, you’re gonna cause me to go deaf,” Charlotte said, and clicked her tongue.

“He texted me,” Amanda said calmly with her heart throbbing.

Charlotte sighed and laughed. “What did he say?” she asked impatiently.

“He likes me!” Amanda screamed and Charlotte removed the phone from her ear.

She was even more irritated, and scoffed.

“Did he say that? Ama, please stop screaming in my ears, I will see you tomorrow,” she said quickly. “Just wanted to tell you I am going to see Will, his brother was in an accident.” She ended the call.

Amanda felt like a teenager in love. She opened Facebook and still found Trey online.

Sorry I had to take a call.

Cool. Amanda responded.

She checked the time. She hadn’t done the accounts, and they were due the next day. She quickly typed him her farewells with a heart emoji. He put a face with heart eyes and she logged out. She couldn’t concentrate and fell asleep without getting anything done.
