“I want to help you, but if you can’t tell me…I don’t know!” The detective raised her hands and stood up.

“Did you find him?” was all that came from Amanda’s lips.

The detective strolled left and right with her arms folded. She shook her head twice. Amanda looked down.

“I want to know how you are connected to this pervert,” said the detective, leaning over the table.

“I did nothing…That guy tricked me. I am the victim here!” cried Amanda.

“I ask again…This time, answer: where did you meet him?” The detective’s eyes showed anger and blame.

Amanda shivered and rubbed her fingers together. “I met him on Facebook,” her voice cracked. She wanted to cry, she couldn’t control it.

“How could you trust him? Haven’t you heard that you meet in public? You went straight to his house…” she hissed before being interrupted by another detective who came in holding a file.

“We can’t find him but there are bodies and organs at his house as this girl indicated.”

He spoke in a low voice but Amanda heard him. The other detective was also tall with formal grey clothes, a tucked-in shirt and ironed trousers, she saw the lines in the middle.

“Did you find him?” the first detective asked, and looked at Amanda with her wild eyes.

The second detective shook his head and headed out. His colleague walked back to Amanda slowly.

“Look, I am not accusing you of anything. I just want you to know it’s not safe spending the weekend with someone you don’t know,” she said.

Amanda gazed up at her and nodded.

“His name is not Trey Gimm, he is a wanted man, Trevor Felani,” she continued.

Amanda was terrified. How could she have known? She never even did research on him, he looked sincere and honest. She wanted to erase the kisses he gave her and the part when she responded. She wanted to vomit. She felt his DNA on her, if only she could remove it. His declaration of love was fake: how could she have known? She was hurting and felt filthy. The romance was just a lure, he never loved her, he was using her for illegal organs.

“He always slips through our fingers and he lures women through Facebook,” the detective said, scribbling on a piece of paper.

Tears fell on Amanda’s cheeks and she swallowed with a mixture of hurt and happiness. At least she was free and nothing happened to her. It could have been so much worse. The world will always be a dangerous place until Trey, or Trevor, is caught.

Charlotte sympathised with Amanda’s pain, but was happy Amanda was safe. Amanda never trusted online dating ever again. Who will be lured next? Be safe out there!
