She’s a stranger
We met through different paths,
She looked like a lost sheep,
I was immediately consumed by her presence,
I offered to carry her luggage
There was something frightening about her,
A typical strong African Woman,
Her eyes can shine in a total blackout,
Her wrists were wrapped with beads,
My thoughts immediately changed,
I saw more in her,
I saw a companion in the making,
I saw someone who could give me
That elusive attention I have been seeking,
But she’s just a stranger.
