I was born in South Africa
My blood, my tears, my smile are from South Africa
South Africa my mother’s land
My roots are from South Africa

I am a South African
A beautiful country
A country of love and peace
But where does the peace and freedom come from??

That peace has been fought for
People committed their lives to bring peace
They never let white people rule them
They fought for our freedom
They stand for each other

They said as black people we can’t let ourselves
Be divided
United we stand
Divided we fall
This freedom we shall fight for side by side
Throughout our lives
Until we have won our liberty
That’s why I say
I am proud to be called South African
