My little sister loves fun.
If she is not laughing, she is smiling.
Her big brown eyes are everyone’s weakness.
She’s often at the centre of attention.
She smiles, but she is not happy.
She laughs when she should be crying.
She hides her sadness from everyone.
When the sun sets and she is alone in her room,
that’s when her true feelings surface.
The walls are thin,
on most nights I can hear her faint cry.
She cries until I also start crying.
“Leave me alone, it’s none of your business”, she tells me.
The pain she hides is killing her.
Help my sister!
