Dipped in bronze she’s melanin
Coated in chocolate she’s a beauty
They look at her as if she’s dirt
Cursing her, calling her dark and ugly
Nobody ever realises how she feels
She’s cursed because of the colour of her skin
She cries every day
Asking herself, “Why?”
Screaming internally with tears coating her melanin skin
Why can’t she be appreciated the way she is
Is it because she’s different from you all
She’s African
And that’s what makes her unique
She has something that others don’t have
That others get scared when they see
She reigns for she is a black WOMAN
