I just don’t understand it…
Over the course of history
There is only one thing that I have learnt;
We as the human race,
From our past mistakes never truly learn.

We riot into wars,
Walk from the centre of calmness into storms,
Forgetting that it’s always been this way before.

Bringing the end closer,
Clashing our swords,
Over and over,
Until we forget what we’re actually fighting for.

Our history written in pencil
So we ourselves can erase and rewrite it
Identically as it was before.

Just as there are endless gates to death
We create “reasons” to kill.

I’m sorry to say, but, that’s a lie,
Because the only reason we reap another’s life,
Is difference.

We say you have less power than I;
You correct me,
Reject me,
Disrespect me,
Suspect me,
So you must die.

It’s grim that the only thing evoking us from silence to rise,
Is another act of injustice after someone has brutally died.
