(Tumi is now 25 years old she and sees a job advert for being a domestic worker)

Tumi: Nelly look, here is a job opportunity for me plus no experience is needed. (As she showed Nelly the newspaper.)

Nelly: Uyaphupha wena, who can hire a street kid? (Laughs)

Tumi: We’ll never know till we try it nje.

Nelly: We? No sisi you are alone, good luck.

Tumi: I need you on this one, I know I was against the stealing thing but now I’m gonna need you, I need to get new clothes so that I will look real, if I do get this job I promise I’ll take care of you all.

Nelly: Neeh marn, I told you that angisafuni ukuchuna daai-dang, now you want me to go back to that life?

Tumi: Please do this for the last time and our lives will change forever.

Nelly: Eish ok ke, let’s hope you’ll get that job.

Tumi: Let’s hope so (they hug.) I will never forget you in my life, you were with me from day one here till today, 13 years of friendship.

Nelly: Yeah you owe me big time, let’s go ke wena you’ll stand afar, I don’t want you to get caught.

(They steal from Mr Price, it is a quick job, within 20 minutes she is done)

Tumi: That was quick, you are a pro. (She hugs Nelly)

Nelly: Uyakena mos. (They run as fast as they can)

Tumi: Wow I must say you’ve got taste, Zinhle. (They laugh.)

Nelly: I want you to look pretty tomorrow.

I would keep some money from the money I would have got from stealing then when the money is enough i would buy some clothes and some few important staffs so that that i would be able to go and take the job opportunity,looking good, as there more chances to get a job when you look good.Remember they also say "if you look good you feel good then you obviously do good."

I would also do the same thing as its always has to be the hustling before getting something and she had to be clean like a decent person looking for a job and not seen from the start that she is a hobbo so she had to do the bad for the last time to get the good

If I was in Tumi's shoes I would try to do the right thing. Instead of shop lifting I would rather ask people in the street for help and try to explain my situation. Or be creative and create a fundraising in the street do a performance or something to try and earn clean money.
