Nelly: Daai step mom van ek kicked me out after taima lami liboda, so I ended up here.

Tumi: I’ll rather stay here forever than go back to that house.

Nelly: Eeh, you say so because you have no idea how hard it is to stay here, ku-rough ukuthola igawula, it’s called the survival of the fittest.

Tumi: You manage mos, so I think I will also manage.

(Group of other street kids come)

Nelly: Here comes a problem, you see the one with red t-shirt thinks he owns this place, he loves ordering others to do what he says. But as for me I don’t take sh*t from him,

Tumi: He’s the boss around here?

Nelly: Yep.

Street kid leader: Wie as daai ncaah cherry wena Nelly? And why didn’t you go with us today?

Nelly: New member, her name is Tumi.

Street kid leader: (Looking at Tumi.) Tumi I’m the boss here and things go my way, if you want to stay here I need 20 cigarettes plus a glue. (looks at her hand) Give me that bracelet.

Nelly: No ways Diesel I can’t let you do that to her. She’s mine so back off.

(They want to fight, but Nelly reasons with Diesel then they all become friends. They hustle together. Life for Tumi is better than back at home.)
