I at times struggle to understand how things are not working out for me the way I need them to work out. Time is running out is what most of us feel like at most times, right? Especially when you reach your 30s, you become very anxious and restless.

Guilt, frustration and anger start to arise all at the same time because a decade of your life has passed and yet you have nothing to fall back on, it’s a scary realisation to find oneself in. You look back, you look around, you look at the life you currently living and you see nothing and become miserable.

Then anxiety starts to creep in with full force and you start to panic. You start comparing your life with your peers and see how they have progressed in their lives, the more you compare the more anxiety builds up and excessive fear and worry crawls in. Then racing thoughts start hindering in your mind.

Whatever you put in your thoughts whether it’s positive or negative, the mind accepts and makes you believe that it is the truth. And if a negative thought pops up in your mind it makes you fearful to see life in a different way, why? Because you react and give it power.

Since I am going through this same ordeal, it’s easier share this with you, so you, the person reading this can be able to identify with what I am going through. We not all the same and we react differently to some things, but I do believe that viewing something in a different perspective may help in a way.
Dr. Osler once said try living in a, “Day-tight compartment” and by that he meant – the best possible way to prepare for tomorrow is to concentrate with all your intelligence, all your enthusiasm, on doing today’s work superbly today. Rather than focusing on what you could have done right in your past life.

Here is what I say; one-step at a time, one grain of sand at a time. As Jesus’ words emphasise, “Have no anxiety about tomorrow,” I live by this scripture on a daily basis and it’s somehow working for me.

Hey, every day is new day to create the best of your life, yes, you may not have a career or a nice social life but every day is a chance to create a new path.
