As we live here on earth it is not sinful, awkward, selfish or stupid to decide to do things differently than other people. Sometimes, you have to take your life into your own hands and see if you like where you are or if you are moving in the right direction, towards the one you planned when you were at primary or secondary school.

If you find yourself moving in the wrong direction, know that it is always the right time to change your life and start moving in the right one so as to accomplish your plans. Sometimes, we tend to do stuff contrary to our plans or values because of peer pressure and the fear of getting isolated from our friends.

We forget about our goals until we get into trouble and realise our decisions have made our lives harder. If you are associated with the wrong people in your life, try to move away from them: know who you are and then ask yourself if their negative behaviour is worth it and if they are going to help you achieve your dreams. Try to ask yourself if walking beside them will make you a successful person. This is when you are will know whether these people are meant to be in your life.

Don’t be afraid to dump people that are going to lead you astray, rather learn to be with people who have the same dreams as you, not those people who only exist but don’t live. Always do stuff you won’t regret.

Don’t just do anything because everyone is doing it, unless it is something great and you are going to learn something from it. You have to know your goals for where you want to be in the next five to ten years.

Walking alone may help you achieve your goals in life. Even though it is sometimes difficult to start living a life of your own, it can also be the best thing to do when you realise who you are and what goals needs to be accomplished in your life.
