“When life gives you lemons, make a lemonade.” I’m pretty sure everyone is familiar with this statement, but what does it really mean? Does life literally give us lemons? Me being the person that I am, I tend to overanalyse things so I can get a deeper understanding of what something really means.

Lemons are bitter. What if life gives you more lemons than it gives you sugar? Thus, life gives you more bad than good. Without sugar your lemonade would be bitter. Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual to show us how it works, we have to figure it out ourselves. Instead of worrying about the lemons that life keeps throwing at you, why don’t you collect them so that when life starts giving you sugar you’ll have enough lemons to make your lemonade? Your life won’t always be difficult, good times will come and everything will be ok. Trust the process and trust God because without Him you can’t do anything.

Stop worrying about the challenges you face, cast your burdens unto the Lord and He will lift you up. I wish more people could adopt the ‘it is what it is’ mentality. Once you do I believe you’ll be able to smile in the storm because you know better days are coming.

Trust the process and trust the Lord

It is what it is.
