It was time to go to work. You kissed me on my forehead and said your goodbyes. This morning was a strange one, birds were singing as if they were sending a message. You went and the waiting began, that is what I always do, I wait for you to return home.

The time for you to come home arrived but you never arrived. I kept on checking the time but you still never arrived. Hours passed and still you never arrived, I waited.

I waited until I fell asleep. As I opened my eyes it was morning already and there was no sign of you. Minutes later, I received a phone call and they said you were no more. I didn’t understand and they said you were involved in a car accident and you didn’t make it. I thought it was a joke and I waited.

Even today, I am still waiting.
