The fans chanting, screaming at the top of their lungs. The glorious uproar! All sixty thousand of them, gushing into the humongous stadium. You can feel the charged atmosphere. Viewing live soccer matches with my father – that’s what I’m looking forward to post-lockdown.

It was fun, especially when we had to bet on our favourite teams, who are rivals. I always came out victorious, even against big and old malum’ Sputla!

There are two faces I solemnly miss. My sweet grandma who is surely seated in her reclining sofa, knitting away for winter.

As for my grandfather, “Hee! Hee! I got you again!” Obviously, winning at each round of mrabaraba. I miss their embraces and their kisses. Off to our homeland, eMadadeni, we will visit them.

Between the soccer matches and visiting my grandparents, I simply cannot wait!
