Lazola Pambo is a poet and novelist by occupation. On any normal day, he types all of his writings, vigorously on his souvenir laptop.
Lazola is also a 3rd year student, studying BA Languages and Literature at Unisa (Pretoria).
He grew up and completed most of his schooling in Queenstown, a major urban town in the Eastern Cape Province, where he is from.
Lazola has published seven collections of poetry. With titles such as “Lyrical Poetry In Solitary Times”, “Gentle Giants” and “Forevermore: An Allegoric Poem”.
His work has also appeared in the UK anthologies 2012 Pendle War Poetry and Poetry Potion as well as the 2012 Short Story Day Africa anthology.
With regards to his inspiration for writing, Lazola says: “I was inspired to write firstly, by the sacrificial encouragement of my guardians and my former English teacher, Ms Margaret Dreyer.
And lastly, it was the determination of being one who transforms and does not conform to the ignorant modern ills of our unsympathetic society.”
