Cebisa Zono is 26 years old, brought up in Tunga village, Nqamakwe, Eastern Cape. He obtained his Matriculation in 2007 at Blythswood Institution. He works for an environmentally friendly project, Lulutho Project, based in his village.
His journey of writing started when he met British author, Richard Mason who granted him with a Lulutho Fellowship in writing in 2011. He is dedicated to producing literary works in Xhosa and writing about the diverse Xhosa cultures and traditions.
Cebisa currently splits his time between Cape Town and the Eastern Cape, from where he draws his inspiration, writing his first novel in isiXhosa. His vision is to play a role in the development of Xhosa language and to continue the legacy of previous Xhosa writers.
