Anelisa is 18 going on 19 whose birthday falls on Christmas Day. She lives in Lamontville and is in Grade 11 at Lamontville High School.

Her favourite book is “Nothing but the truth” by John Kani. Anelisa loves communicating with people, writing short stories and poetry, watching movies and listening to music.

Anelisa’s dream is to finish her schooling and to continue her studies so that she could become a medical doctor. She’d also love to have a magazine that gives rural and township school learners a space to express themselves in different ways. And, she’d like to help orphans to further their education.

Anelisa would love to be the voice of the voiceless, to help those who have less.

Her message to the youth of SA today is:
“Know where you are coming from. There are so many opportunities out there but you need to go out and grab them. Remember that ‘when a lion sees a prey, it does not rest until it catches and eats it’. Bear in mind that education is your most powerful weapon.”
