Adam was relieved that he had saved​ the girls who were just doing their high school. They were kidnapped from different town and brought into Mamelodi,a place where they were used as drug carriers and prostitution’s. As their statement it was proved they were promised good life not knowing where it would lead them. Adam felt like a good man though the kidnapper was still on the run. He knew the girls would give statements that would help the police .

” Stop putting law in your hands. Leave the police job to us,” Officer Nathan warned , shouting at Adam when he saw that Captain was no where to be found.

” I was a good citizen,” he said proudly and walked out of the door.

Officer Nathan clicked his tongue and watched him walk away. Captain Wayne walked in behind him.

” I heard the girls are talking,” he whispered.

He was in shock when he looked back and hoped​ he wasn’t seen shouting at Adam.

” Oh ,really… Then why can’t​ you find the kidnapper,” he clapped his hand once,frowning.

” We will …. Soon,” he smiled, pretending.

Officer Nathan was still angry with Adam who wanted to get praises which were meant for him.

” I don’t want that counsellor talking to the girls and I know he is working with the kidnapper,” he spoke seriously, pointing his finger on his chest..

He swallowed and his body was shaking even Captain Wayne noticed.

” Are you okay?”he asked worriedly.

” Why wouldn’t I?” he blunted .

” A police officer who shiver like he is cold… You would pee on yourself,” the captain walked away, grumbling.

Officer Nathan stepped his feet , thudding the ground,irritatedly. In a hour the e police officer were instructed to go the location which the girls had spoken​ off in their statement and Officer Nathan didn’t know,he was left behind. Captain Wayne put him off the case.

In two hours time the policemen arrived​ with evidence and other twenty girls in their custody.

” What is this?” he asked curiously.

” We went to the location and this is what we got there,” the bold policeman in front said and rushed to store the evidence.

” Captain didn’t even allow me to go with them… Wait ,he suspected​ that I am working with the kidnapper?” he sighed and clicked his tongue and strolled down to the office.

He kept on banging the table with his feet . He thought he would be a captain one day but it seemed to have failed. Captain was left with few months to retire and now he was going to lose the promotion. Captain Wayne entered his office without knocking.

” I thought you would come violently asking why you aren’t on the case,” he sat on the chair and folded his arms.

He didn’t low what to do but humbled himself. He looked calm but inside his head was swirling with thoughts.

” Sir,I ….. You made your choice and I had to accept,” Officer Nathan replied and bowed his head in respect.

” Sure,” Captain Wayne stared at him and put his finger on his chin, thinking loudly.

Officer Nathan stared​ at his eyes and quickly looked at the floor,his body was trembling . Captain Wayne could identify that Officer Nathan was hiding something and he raised his eyebrows and smiled.

 At the dusk ,the orange horizon Adam was just buying his grocery and he saw the hoodie​ man again. He wore the same hood jacket and black pants with black sneakers. The build on his body was the same as he remembered. the casher was swiping his goods on a barcode good swiper very slowly while taking on his sliding floor.

” Please hurry,I need to go,” he ordered to the cashier who was taking longer to pack his goodies in a plastic.

He looked through the glass wall and saw the statue of someone who he knew. The cashier was busy humming as if he was singing yet he was agreeing on his call.

” Please hurry,” he shouted and the cashier nodded but ignorant.

He grabbed the plastic bag and rushed out. He stood behind a tall man who was reading a newspaper ,leaning on the glass wall. It was officer Nathan ,he knew it but he was frozen. He rummaged through his backpack for his phone . The hood man and officer were drifting away. Adam took a deep breath ,knowing the risks.Finally he found the phone and recorded them behind a tree.

” You need to pay up,” a voice said .

” What? You are crazy right?” the hoodie​ man shouted.

” My girls are gone and my business is no more because you took my girls,” he added and slapped the officer​.

” It wasn’t me. That Adam keep interfering,” Officer Nathan rubbed the itching on his cheek that the slap caused.

” But didn’t you warn him …Maybe you should have killed him” the hoodie man sounded aggressive and shoved him aside.

” I owe you nothing,” the hoodie​ man frowned and grabbed Nathan by his waist. He had a threatening face and then noticed a flash behind a tree.

” What is that?” he asked , pointing with his index finger.

Officer Nathan had a glance but it was not clear. Hearing on it Adam wasn’t looking when he recorded ,he had put the phone facing them with a flashlight. He quickly shoved his phone in his pocket and cowered like a dog and hid under a vehicle.

The hoodie man searched and thought maybe it was a light reflected by a glass and both him and the officer disappeared.
