It has been a couple of weeks since I last saw Thobane even though my heart did not hurt as much as it did 3 weeks ago the pain was still there.

I sat down at the white chair, people were already filling in. I smiled as I saw Langa stand at the front with the pastor looking nervous.

I was happy for him, at least one of us managed to get the happily ever after they have always wanted.

Even though the ceremony was beautiful, it was depressing to me. I watched as they sealed their vows with a kiss, it got me thinking about me and Thobane standing there.,I squashed the thought as fast as it came to my mind.

“I’m glad you came.” Langa said, after his first dance with Zama and everyone wanting to talk to them, probably offer them some meaningless advice that they will have forgotten by tomorrow.

“Of course and congratulations.”

I have stayed long enough at this ceremony that I was ready to go to my flat, I was sick of seeing people happy and with their partners.

I walked out of the loud tent and took a deep breath, as I took out my stilettos. I picked up my long dress and was ready to leave when I bumped into a hard chest.

I looked up almost not believing my eyes. Thobane was standing there looking breathtaking in his black tuxedo. My breath breath caught on my throat, I wanted to run my hand on his face but I held back.

“Khanyisile.”

Butterflies broke loose on my stomach as he said my name.

I looked at him as I let go of my dress and held my stilettos tightly. “Thobane.”
