To everyone, he’s just Valdo. He has no title, just like he has no home, parents, or history. He has made peace with that. There are many things he had to do to get here, and you know what, he would not change anything if he had to go back and start afresh. Johannesburg is the City of Gold, a place for opportunities, where one goes when one wants to have a high life, and this is where Valdo finds himself. He is opening his new nightclub after years of wanting to do so, and he is prepared to make it the hottest thing in the entire city.

Things cannot go wrong, right? Wrong, because one by one, little by little, his castle made up of lies, omissions, and deceptions is tumbling, and with it innocent lives. Will he be safe or will he learn the hard way that, no matter where you go, no matter who you become, when vampires want you, they will get you?
