He is wearing traditional Xhosa attire and it looks so good on him.He is now taller than me.

Xolwa. The love of my life.

He approaches my way to greet the men I am serving.

“Greetings my elders.” Xolwa greets the men.

He looks up to me and he looks shocked and happy.

“Xolwa”

“Reneilwe”

Xolwa and I say at the same time.

“I can’t believe it .Am I in a dream? If so please don’t wake me up because I am enjoying this dream.” I say shaking my head.

Xolwa laughs.

He hugs me very tight and I miss this hug. The one I last felt years ago.

While we are still hugging someone interrupts us.

I look at the woman from down to up.She is wearing black stilettos,a Xhosa attire, she is wearing a weave that looks very expensive and a black and white doek on top of the weave.

I look at her face it’s someone familiar but I can’t remember who she is.

“Reneilwe, is this you” Mihlali says in a perfect English accent, looking at me up and down. I don’t reply because I don’t understand if this is a question or what.

Mihlali greets me with a big hug

“Oh my gosh!Look at you,you look like a ‘makoti’.”Mihlali says.

“Uhmm nice to see you Mihlali but I have to go.See you later”I say and walk in the kitchen.

Mihlali has changed. She looks like a model in a Hollywood magazine. Why is she here? Why did she come with Xolwa? What’s happening here?

Now that Xolwa is back,I have to reclaim my sweetheart.

****

Xolwa and I meet up at a nearby restaurant.

“How are you related with the Mabaleng family?”I ask.

Mihlali is the one related with them.So how have you’ve been since…”Xolwa says.

“Since you left”I respond.

Xolwa sighs.”No since you gave birth.”

“I am okay but we are not here to talk about that, right.”I say.

“Yeah.”

“Xolwa I look I don’t know if we can try dating again because I still love you.” I say.

“You are married Renee and I have a fiancΓ©e.” Xolwa says.

I feel a large lump on my throat. “Wait, what?”
