Here I am, looking at these tall buildings, so amused and excited at the same time.
“Mama what are those?” I point to the buildings.
“This my girl are where people are staying,” said my mother while laughing.
“Oh is this where we are going to stay from now on?”
“Yes Samantha, we are going to start a new life here, just you me and Sipho.”
“Mama who is Sipho?”
” No worries you will meet him soon.”
Oh my god, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Samantha Hlophe. I’m 6 six years old and just moved to Johannesburg with my mother Gugu Hlophe and I’m about to meet my stepfather Sipho Dlomo.
My mother introduced us when we got to him and told me that Sipho will be my new dad. I was shy and hid  behind my mother and Sipho came close to me and gave me a long hug.
As I started to get used to him and the environment, I really felt loved and welcomed so I started to love him also.
A few weeks later I created a lovely song that said

I now have two daddies, my first daddy is Thabiso and my second daddy is Sipho and I love them so much.

Whenever I sang that song it didn’t sit well with him because he considered me as his one and only child, plus he didn’t have children of his own.
One day he told my mother that he didn’t like my song and she must tell me to stop saying that I have two fathers because he wants to be my only father.
When Sipho was at work my mother told me what Sipho said to her and she begged me to stop talking about my biological father Thabiso, it will be better if I talked about him when it’s just the two of us.
I said ok, but I asked her when we would visit Thabiso. She told me very soon but at the moment she didn’t have transport fare.
