“Good morning, my darling,” yelled Jimmy enthusiastically, as he presented some freshly cooked french toast for breakfast.

Emily jumped out of her wits. “Oh Jimmy!. You are home. I missed you so,” she said as she hugged him.

“It’s a beautiful day. Let’s have breakfast on the porch,” suggested Jimmy.

Emily soaked up the sun, hoping it would suck out all the monsters trapped within her dark mind.

The next door neighbor creepily creeped by while carrying some flowers he picked from his garden. He stared at Emily and Jimmy as though they were committing a crime by laughing so loud. Was it a sin to be this in love and happy? thought Emily. Jimmy extended a wave over to the grumpy old man. The elder stared in confusion, his mouth agape as he quickly disappeared from eye view.

Later that hot day, Emily noticed that the pool had been cleaned. She had no recollection of cleaning the pool, so it couldn’t have been her. She assumed it was Jimmy’s doing. She then decided to take a dip in the pool. The water was lukewarm, her body muscles relaxed. She was at piece. Her mind slowly started to drift off until her leg stroked by something underneath the water gripped. She opened her eyes and see the visible pool for anything. She saw nothing, she then closed her eyes and continue to listen to the Twitter birds. Within an instant of complete relaxation. Her leg was gripped by an unknown force and her entire body was flung underwater. It was the grip of the corpse in the pool. The corpse dragged Emily straight to the bottom. Emily fought for her life as she tried to swim her way to the top but the strenuous grip of the corpse couldn’t be broken. Emily’s air bubbles had reached the surface but her fight for survival began to diminish. Almost on the brink of death, the corpse finally let her go. Emily floated to the surface panting for air, jumped out of the pool and shut the patio behind her. She then raced towards the telephone. Behind her, she was tortured by menacing sounds of giggling and footsteps. Emily slowly turned around, she saw no one. Was she truly alone?
