Melokuhle

I got out of the pool when I saw Melusi standing in the lounge.

My heart skipped a beat at his sight and it was not because I was scared of him, it was anything but being scared.

I got closer and stopped at the door, he looked different today like he was remorseful in a way.

“Melo,” before he can continue the doorbell rang and whatever he wanted to say he swallowed it back and his face changed so fast to serious mode.

“You have a visitor.” Lizzie said, I waited curious to find out who this visitor was.

My knees buckled up when I saw my dad rounding a corner carrying a travelling bag, he gave it to Melusi and turned to look at me.

With tears blinding my eyes I ran into his arms, glad to finally be able to hug him.

He wiped my tears and smiled “I came to take you home.” He said happily.

I turned to look at Melusi hoping to see any kind of emotion but his face did not betray him.

“You can count it it’s all in there.”

Melusi nodded as he shoved his hands deep in his pockets and not once did he look at me.

“Let’s go.”

I nodded and allowed my dad to lead the way as we were about to round a corner I turned to look around to see if Melusi is looking at me as I leave but he was nowhere in sight.
