Sindie

I lay down on the grass with only my sunglasses and my umbrella to shield me from the sun.

I smiled as I looked at Shawn teaching Naledi how to swim.

I rubbed my stomach, looking at how much it had grown, soon little junior Shawn will be here and his father will be teaching him how to ride a bicycle or fix his bike.

The thought just made me smile.

“Come join us mommy.” Shawn said as he splashed water at me.

“Oh no you didn’t.” I said slowly running towards the pool and splashed him with water soon we were all splashing each other, and laughing at the same time.

It was hard to believe that not so long ago we lived in fear but now things have changed, now I was able to breath again.

Simon walked in the garden carrying glasses filled with orange juice.

Simon was never charged since he worked with the police, he just got of easily with a week of community service.

I took my orange juice and went back to my chair under the umbrella and smiled yet again as I saw Simon chasing Naledi around acting like a monster.

With things going like this, I hoped it stayed going forever. This was what I loved seeing, having no worries and just living, this was my perfect life with no Ndumiso in it.
