My stomach has grown bigger now I woke up from the bed next to my husband today he didn’t went to work we would chill together I am so excited.
“Thobile my love what do you plan to eat today? My husband asked while busy brushing my tummy.
I looked at his mesmerizing eyes I smiled then he kissed me in a forehead. “Honey I think you should stops feeding me with KFC meat and Pizza at Clinic they told us that junk foods are not good for the growth of the baby . So from now on pregnant women should eat vegetables , fruits drunk plenty of water and exercise this would helps us to deliver in time .
“Alright miss know it all so today I would go to shopping alone because you looks tired my love . My husband said.
Thabang is tall and handsome African man who loves himself.
I stood up from the corner of the bed where I seated I opened the window to inhale some fresh air I felt pains and dizzness i walks straight to the kitchen opened the fridge took a bottle of Buhle Buhle poured water in the glass drank it after that I lay back on the bed look on top of the roof.
“Thobile my wife are you sure you would be okay if I left you here huh ? My husband asked looks concerned.
I would probably be good ,but do you not took so long there please, and don’t forget to buy gown and sleepers that I would use in hospital.
“Oh your time has arrived already huh?my husband Thabang asked.
My love I’m 39 weeks today and on Wednesday when I went to check-up the baby was already turns down head which means our baby would arrived on earth anytime .
“Oh ! I didn’t know about that let me not waist time I would be back in time. He walks away and now the pain grew bigger in my stomach.
I looked on the underwear see something unusual I never been pregnant before but I heard that if you are pregnant and the baby is coming water breaks so for me i didn’t see water breaks.
Now it’s been hours since my husband left to shopping and I’m in pain.
“Knock knock!
“Come in I said.
My love I’m in pain please call an Ambulance he tried to called an Ambulance but didn’t get hold of them . I bathe myself took the bag that I packed baby’s clothes I wore my red dress we don’t have car so we’re supposed to go to hospital by taxi ,my husband raises up his index finger shows them we’re going to complex the taxi stopped.
“Lea kae makgowa ? The driver asked.
“Rea Complex how much per person?My husband said.
“It’s only R6 but because you are two you suppose to pay me R12. The driver replied.
We entered in the taxi then in less than 10 minutes we arrived in Kwa-Thema Complex my husband paid the taxi driver his money now we need to took another taxi time it is 17:00 we’re not yet in Pholosong hospital in Tsakani.
“My love let me get some food here in Pick(n)Pay so that we could eat on our way to hospital. My husband said.
He left me outside then go buy food he didn’t took time when he came back he finds me sat down on the floor.
“Stood up are you tired? My husband asked.
I’m not tired my stomach is painful while we still talking 2 women passed by gossip.
“Chomie let us go away from this pregnant woman we don’t want to get in trouble what if she gave birth down here and the innocent baby dies police would arrest us. The woman said.
I stood up my husband now went to look for another transport for me to go to hospital he got it and the guy charged him R70 for both of us .
We arrived at hospital now time is 18:30 I and my husband finds that Nurses are in the kitchen drinking tea the others who was working during the day has knock out. We walks straight to reception gives them my ID green book to write down my name and other personal information.
“What is she coming to do here? Receptionist inquires.
“She is pregnant so she told me in the few hours that she feels pains. My husband replied.
The Receptionist shows us the bench to wait for Nurses to helps us. We seated on the bench wait for Nurse and while we still seated 2 paramedics workers brought another lady she’s pregnant too but atleast she came with an Ambulance unlike me .
We sat together then my husband leaves us together because now I has someone to talk too some other pregnant women we finds in hospital are crying you may swore as if they are slaughtering them I smile while look straight to the lady who sits next to me.
She’s slim and beautiful with dimples .
“I am Zinhle Maphophe I live in Kwa-Thema in Majola street , she extended her right hand to held mine.
“I am Thobile Maphanga from Extension 7 opposite Baselona nice to meet you..I said excited now it’s 18:46 Nurses came back from tea time one of the Nurse by the surname Masekwameng point her index finger straight to me I choose this girl she said.
I stood up followed her where she is heading to I picked up my bag and Zinhle walks together with other Nurse when I get to labor room I throw away down my bag then throw myself on top of the bed my whole body is hot like fire and the pain is unbearable.
Nurse Nurse !I shout I want to go to bathroom.
“Sister Masekwameng check her first before she walk to bathroom. Other Nurse said.
Nurse Masekwameng checked me then tell me that the baby is about to come out if I want to poop or urinate I better do it here she will clean up it is her job as a Nurse to do that.
“Push push she said
I pushed and pushed until the baby came out time 19:00 friday evening the child came out crying I smile and cry the tears of joy Nurse Masekwameng is happy too because she brought life to my baby I gave birth to handsome boy he’s fresh all the pain are gone now.

Zinhle give birth to baby girl in19:30 but we’re not in a same ward ,Nurse Masekwameng took my stuff and my baby accompanied me to another ward where it’s full of women with their babies. I get there greets them then jumps into my bed with my son I cannot stop watching his innocent face I tried to breastfeed him but nothing comes out on my breast.
I took my phone call my husband.
“My wife how it is going? He asked
“I’m good and I gave birth to baby boy I said. I could hear his excitement through the phone .
“Are they going to discharge you tomorrow ? he asked.
“Yeah but I don’t know what time but make sure you stay ready I woul call you . I hang up the call.
