Xavier’s POV
I’ve searched the entire school for this girl and she’s nowhere to be found. I went to the office to get a copy of her schedule, when I did, I found that it was similar to mine, just the first period. However my dad called me because I was needed at home for an emergency, I guess I can make it before lunch time.
I rushed back home, a part of me feeling a little upset for having to leave school, when I just got there. When I got home I found my dad extremely upset.
“Hey dad, what was so urgent that I had to skip school to come back home?”
“Hey son, I’m sorry but I got a phone call from your aunt.”
“My aunt?, what does she want?”
My aunt rarely came to see us. I hated that woman with so much passion, she didn’t deserve to be called family. She never cared for any of us, only herself. Now I understood how dad felt, I felt his anger.
“She needs help”
Yeah, I knew that was coming. She only called us when she needed us to help her, but when we needed her, she was nowhere to to be found.
“Help with what exactly?, she is never there for us dad, why should we help her? After this she will go on with her life like nothing happened…..wait, you actually considering helping that witch?”
My dad let’s out a loud sigh.
“No, not really. You know what?, never mind, just go back to school. “
“You sure?”
“Yes son, I’m sure, now go and enjoy your day”
“Okay, see you later then dad.”
Now time to go back to school.
***3 hours later***
I never thought how long it would take for me to get back to school. Even with my vampire speed, it took me 3 hours, now I regret not taking my car, but then again, it saves me some time and I could make it to school when it’s break.
When I entered the school I saw Jeffrey and decided to mind link him privately so that no one can hear our personal conversation.
“Hey did you see where the human girl went; I got a copy of her schedule with me. I’ve been searching for her this morning before I left”
“Yeah her scent is faint in those classes, meaning she had left, I saw her a couple of times when it was time to switch classes.”
He says as he reads through her schedule.
“However, someone said that they saw her sitting underneath a tree. YOUR tree to be exact”
“Okay I’ll go check it out, thanks”
“You sure you don’t need me to come with you?”
“Yeah, I’m sure”
I made my way through the back door and saw her sitting under my tree like Jeffrey said she was. She looked deep in thought, so I made my way up to her. It took her 5 minutes to acknowledge my presence. When I looked into her eyes, my inner vampire went crazy.
“Mate.”
Austria’s POV
What the heck?
Did he just call me mate? Wait, what’s a mate?
And who is he?
I’m not gonna lie, he does look handsome though. I stared into his eyes that are ice blue, his shaggy hair that falls over his forehead that reaches till his eyebrows. He was very handsome.
“Umm–uh…hi?”
The boy sits down in front of me, gazing over my facial features. He leans over and cups my cheek with one hand, that was when I felt it. The sparks, why the hell am I feeling sparks? And what the hell is up with this dude?
“Whats your name?”
Should I answer him? Well no one has talked to me during the day, his the first; maybe I could make a friend
“Uh…My name is Austria”
“You have a beautiful name Austria, just as beautiful as you.”
I couldn’t help but blush, for some reason, I feel a romantic pull towards this dude. I don’t even know who he is, and I swear his making me fall in love with him already.
I finally find the courage and ask him for his name.
“Whats yours?”
“My name is Xavier. Xavier Marcel William”
Whoa even his name sounds beautiful.
After a few minutes we get to know each other, that’s when I remembered that he called me his mate. I needed to find out what the hell that is and why he called me that.
“Can I ask you a question?”
“Sure, what’s up?”
“What’s a mate and why did you call me that?”
Xavier’s POV
DAMN!?
How do I explain that to her? She’s just a human, she wouldn’t understand.
“Um…well I don’t really know how to explain it to you, you wouldn’t understand.”
“Well I can try.”
She sits crossed legs on the grass waiting for me to explain.
“Look, I know that you’re new here and all, and you probably don’t trust strangers, but I think it’s much better to show it to you”
She looked confused for a moment then she answered.
“Sure, okay then”
“Not here, can you meet me tonight?”
What if she runs away?
What if she says no?
What if sh–
“Sure, I can do that. Besides I have nothing to do.”
I couldn’t help smiling.
“Give me your address then I’ll pick you up then.”
Before I started walking away, I turned around to face her.
“Oh, just wear something casual”
I just hope that she will accept me.
