Thembi sleeps in the corner of the street next to the club. She sees a beautiful lady walking by her side and asks her some two rand.
“Sorry ntombi, I’m hungry I need some food.”
“I’m not your charity please mama go to the kitchen soup.” She pushes Thembi.
Monalisa who was looking at Thembi comes closer. She looked so worried and gives Thembi a hundred rand.
“Are you okay mama?”
“My child I’m not okay I haven’t ate for two days.”
“Get up mama let us go to the nearest restaurant.”
They went together to eat lunch. Monalisa was so happy that she had a bond with a stranger. Actually she did not know that the strange was her mother.
Her mood has changed even at home because when she is with Thembi she feels free.
She tells her dad everything about how she met Thembi, her new best friend. She shows her father a picture of her and Thembi.
“We almost look alike. She is like a mother to me. I love her dad,” she smiles.
“This woman teaches you to be a drug dealer. She smokes nyaope, you do not learn anything from her.”
“Mara I thought that you would be happy because I have changed. This woman changed my life. One day you will regret yourself for pretending that you are better.”
Monalisa decides to go and see Thembi. She books a hotel around the corner. While they were in a hotel Monalisa began to cry.
Thembi feels sorry about everything that is happening to Monalisa.
