Women,
When I hear this word
Only pain and sorrow fills my heart
What’s nice about being a woman?
I ask myself this question everyday
What’s nice about being judged because of the way I dress almost everyday?
What’s nice about being expected to look and act in a certain way by society?
What’s nice about fearing to walk around carefree, alone, at night?
What’s nice about being told that woman are men’s assets?
What’s nice about ruthless men undressing you with their eyes?
What’s nice about being a woman?
I ask myself on the daily basis
What’s nice about being told, from the day you’re old enough to carefully listen,
That your destiny is to be someone’s wife?
What’s nice about being limited to do certain things just because of your gender?
What’s nice about being taught from a young age that because you were born a female, you’re automatically inferior to men?
We’re suppressed just because of our gender.
Again I ask, what’s nice about being a woman?
Is there anyone that could provide me with an answer?
What’s nice about being a woman?
